Matiullah Karimi ("we", "us", or "our") operates the FamilyFlux mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Full name (optional)
  • Profile photo (optional)

1.2 Financial Data

To provide the core functionality of the App, we collect:

  • Expense records (amounts, categories, descriptions, dates)
  • Income records (amounts, sources, dates)
  • Budget configurations

1.3 Family Data

When you create or join a family group:

  • Family group name
  • Member roles and associations
  • Invitation codes

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and maintain the App's functionality
  • Sync your data across devices
  • Send push notifications (budget alerts, family updates)
  • Generate spending reports and analytics
  • Improve the App's performance and features

3. Data Storage and Security

  • All data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS infrastructure)
  • Data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+
  • Data is encrypted at rest using AES-256
  • We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own family's data
  • Authentication is handled through secure OAuth 2.0 (Apple, Google) or email/password with bcrypt hashing

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT:

  • Sell your personal data to third parties
  • Share your financial data with advertisers
  • Use your data for targeted advertising

We may share data with:

  • Supabase: Our backend infrastructure provider (data processing)
  • Google Generative AI: Receipt data extraction (text only, no images)
  • Apple/Google: Authentication services (when you choose social sign-in)

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days
  • Receipt images are stored for as long as the associated expense exists

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all your stored data within the App
  • Export: Export your data as PDF or CSV reports
  • Correct: Edit any of your personal or financial information
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
  • Portability: Export your data in standard formats (CSV, PDF)

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date.
